Quick Answer: What Is SeekOut, and How Does It Find Candidates Faster?
SeekOut, reviewed here by HiringReach, is an AI recruiting platform for employers and recruiters, based in Bellevue, Washington. It helps a recruiter discover candidates by searching what SeekOut calls 1B+ candidate profiles together with the people already in your applicant tracking system (ATS), ranked by fit against the role. It helps you reach them with AI-written, multi-step email campaigns and monthly contact credits. On SeekOut's pricing page, read by HiringReach on October 5, 2026, the entry plan, SeekOut Sourcing Core, cost $149 a month paid annually upfront ($1,788 a year) or $179 billed monthly, with 500 contact credits a month and a 14-day free trial that needs no credit card. Team plans are priced by quote. HiringReach is not a SeekOut alternative for recruiters: HiringReach is a job seeker tool, with HiringReach Starter at $49 a month after a 7-day trial that needs a card.
How HiringReach made this SeekOut review: every SeekOut fact below comes from SeekOut's own homepage, pricing page, help center, or privacy policy as read on October 5, 2026, or from the press coverage named in the same paragraph. HiringReach did not buy a SeekOut seat or test it hands-on, and could not read the G2 review page, which refused automated requests. HiringReach builds a product on the job seeker side of hiring, so weigh our view with that in mind.
What Is SeekOut? The Company and Its Three Ways to Use It
SeekOut describes itself, on the homepage HiringReach read on October 5, 2026, as "agentic recruiting for enterprises" and claims 750+ leading enterprises as customers there. A July 2022 SeekOut press release on Business Wire gives the founding year as 2017. The company's homepage lists its office at 1100 112th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA.
SeekOut's own FAQ splits the product into three ways of working:
- Inside SeekOut. SeekOut Sourcing for searching profiles, rediscovering past applicants, and running outreach, plus SeekOut Inbound Evaluation and AI Screening, which scores every applicant and can run AI video interviews.
- Inside your AI assistant. SeekOut MCP puts the same search into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Amazon Quick, with 14 built-in recruiting workflows. SeekOut says MCP is included with SeekOut Sourcing at no additional cost.
- SeekOut Agents. Agents that take on more of the work as they prove themselves. SeekOut labels them early access.
Older comparisons still describe a SeekOut Grow product for internal mobility. Findem's July 2023 comparison of hireEZ, SeekOut and Findem splits SeekOut into Recruit and Grow. SeekOut's homepage and pricing page read on October 5, 2026 do not mention Grow, so check with SeekOut before you plan around it.
How SeekOut Helps You Discover Candidates Faster
HiringReach found that SeekOut's discovery claim rests on searching more places at once and ranking the results for you. These are the pieces SeekOut lists on its homepage, in its own words where quoted:
- One search across outside profiles and your ATS. SeekOut says it searches "ATS + 1B+ profiles, ranked by fit." It also claims 44% of great hires are already in your ATS. HiringReach could not find the study behind that 44% on the page, so treat it as SeekOut's marketing figure.
- Signals beyond the resume. SeekOut's Intelligent Search looks at patents, GitHub, and publications, and offers 30+ filters. That suits engineering and research roles, where a GitHub history says more than a job title.
- Plain language search. You describe the role in your own words and SeekOut builds the search and ranks matches, either in SeekOut or through SeekOut MCP in an AI assistant.
- Job-specific workflows and rubrics. SeekOut builds an "Ideal Candidate Profile" rubric from the job and scores candidates against it, so a team sources the same role the same way.
- Inbound evaluation. For roles drowning in applicants, SeekOut says its AI "evaluates every applicant same day" and delivers a ranked shortlist.
Where SeekOut sources from matters for niche hiring. The July 2022 Business Wire release announced a Healthcare Talent Pool that added 5.5 million healthcare professionals to SeekOut's search. If you hire nurses or clinicians, ask SeekOut how current that pool is today.
How SeekOut Helps You Reach Candidates Faster
Finding a profile is half the job, and HiringReach read SeekOut's pricing page and help center to see how it handles the other half, the first message. SeekOut is clear about where the contact data comes from.
- Contact credits. SeekOut's pricing page lists 500 contact credits a month on Sourcing Core, 750 per seat a month on Sourcing and Sourcing + Integration, and a custom allowance on Full Recruiting Funnel. A credit pays for revealing contact details.
- Where the emails come from. SeekOut's help article "How does SeekOut provide contact info for candidates?", updated September 1, 2026, says SeekOut "is not a primary source of candidate contact info", partners with third-party data providers, and does "not scrape contact details from LinkedIn or other platforms."
- Outreach at scale. SeekOut runs personalized, multi-touch email campaigns that its AI drafts, and claims "3X higher response rates." SeekOut does not say on the page what that figure is compared against, so HiringReach would not budget around it.
- A Chrome extension. SeekOut's pricing page lists a Chrome extension with Sourcing, for pulling up a candidate while you browse.
- ATS sync. SeekOut names integrations with Workday, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, Ashby, Bullhorn, SmartRecruiters, SAP SuccessFactors and others, with two-way data sync so sourced candidates do not get retyped.
SeekOut Pricing in 2026: Every Plan on Its Pricing Page
SeekOut publishes one price and quotes the rest, according to seekout.com/pricing as HiringReach read it on October 5, 2026. SeekOut's FAQ also says it offers volume discounts through sales.
| SeekOut plan | Who SeekOut says it is for | Price | Contact credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sourcing Core (self-serve) | Solo sourcers and teams with a first dedicated recruiting seat | $149 a month paid annually upfront ($1,788 a year), or $179 billed monthly | 500 a month |
| Sourcing | Teams focused on outbound sourcing, priced per seat | Custom, billed annually | 750 per seat a month |
| Sourcing + Integration | Teams that also want ATS rediscovery | Custom, billed annually | 750 per seat a month |
| Full Recruiting Funnel | Teams adding inbound evaluation and AI screening | Custom, billed annually | Custom |
| Free trial | Anyone testing Sourcing Core | 14 days, no credit card, no contract | Not stated |
The catch with SeekOut's headline price is the billing. The $149 rate means paying $1,788 in one go. Monthly billing is $179, or $2,148 over a year, which is $360 more, the saving SeekOut itself advertises for paying annually. ATS rediscovery is what SeekOut names in the Sourcing + Integration plan, not in Sourcing Core, so if rediscovery is why you are buying, ask SeekOut for a quote on that plan.
Is SeekOut a Good Company? Funding, Layoffs, and What SeekOut Claims
HiringReach's read of the public record: SeekOut is an established, venture-backed company that has also had to cut costs. TechCrunch reported on May 20, 2024 that SeekOut, last valued at over $1.2 billion when it raised a $115 million Series C led by Tiger Global in January 2022, laid off about 30% of its workforce. TechCrunch quoted a letter from CEO Anoop Gupta and CTO Aravind Bala: "Lately, we have been spending roughly $2 to earn $1, and this last fiscal year, we incurred significant cash burn." The same article and GeekWire both report an earlier cut of about 7% in October 2023, when SeekOut had around 200 employees.
On the other side, SeekOut was still selling, still shipping, and still publishing prices on October 5, 2026: SeekOut MCP and SeekOut Agents are recent products, and the homepage claims 750+ enterprise customers, SOC 2 Type II certification, and a third-party bias audit dated September 2025. HiringReach did not verify those claims independently.
What that means for a buyer: SeekOut is not a startup that might vanish next month, but a company that has publicly said it was cutting spend. On an annual contract, ask about renewal pricing in writing, and keep your candidate data synced to your ATS so a tool change does not lose your pipeline.
SeekOut vs hireEZ vs LinkedIn Recruiter vs Indeed Smart Sourcing
SeekOut competes with other outbound sourcing tools, and HiringReach compared them on what each vendor publishes. HiringReach for Employers sits on the last row because it does a different job, and it is not live yet.
| Tool | Where it looks | Published price | Source, date read |
|---|---|---|---|
| SeekOut | 1B+ profiles plus your ATS, per SeekOut | Sourcing Core $149 a month paid annually or $179 monthly; team plans custom | seekout.com/pricing, October 5, 2026 |
| hireEZ | 1B+ profiles across 45+ platforms, plus your ATS, per hireEZ | Solo recruiters from $494 a month; enterprise quoted | hireEZ pricing page, September 27, 2026 |
| LinkedIn Recruiter | LinkedIn's own network | Not published; contact sales. 100 to 150 InMails per seat a month | LinkedIn product pages, September 27, 2026 |
| Indeed Smart Sourcing | Resumes uploaded to Indeed | Professional $520 a month or $4,992 a year, 100 contacts a month | Indeed Smart Sourcing page, October 3, 2026 |
| HiringReach for Employers | Does not search. Planned to show anonymized interest from job seekers who wrote to your hiring managers | Planned from $500 a month; waitlist, not live | HiringReach /employers page |
On price alone, SeekOut Sourcing Core is the cheapest published entry point of the four outbound tools. SeekOut vs hireEZ comes down to that $149 against $494 for a solo recruiter, and to which data each finds for your roles, which only a side-by-side trial on the same job will tell you. SeekOut vs LinkedIn Recruiter is a question of reach outside LinkedIn: SeekOut gives you emails through contact credits, while LinkedIn Recruiter messages stay in LinkedIn as InMail. HiringReach lays out the wider set, including free channels, in its comparison of candidate sourcing tools and what each one charges.
Is SeekOut Worth It? Who Should Buy It and Who Should Not
HiringReach's view is that SeekOut fits you if you source the same kinds of hard-to-find roles every month, especially technical ones where GitHub, patents and publications matter, and you want email outreach rather than InMail. It fits a team that already has thousands of past applicants in an ATS it integrates with. The 14-day trial without a card makes it cheap to test on one real role.
SeekOut does not fit you if you are filling one role, or a few volume roles with plenty of applicants. A free Indeed post, a referral ask, and a Google X-ray search cost nothing, and HiringReach's guide on how to find candidates before paying for a sourcing seat walks through them. It also does not fit an agency desk looking for new clients: SeekOut finds candidates, not hiring managers with budgets, which is the split HiringReach covers in its recruiter prospecting tools review.
How Do Headhunters Find Candidates? Where SeekOut Fits
HiringReach sorts the ways headhunters and in-house recruiters find candidates into five channels, and a tool like SeekOut speeds up only some of them:
- Search a profile database. SeekOut, hireEZ, LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed resume search all sell this. It is the step SeekOut is built for.
- Mine their own records. Past applicants and silver medalists in the ATS. SeekOut's Sourcing + Integration plan is aimed here.
- Ask for referrals. From the client, past placements, and their own network. No database does this.
- Search the open web. Google X-ray on LinkedIn and GitHub, which is free and slower.
- Get approached. Candidates who write to the recruiter or straight to the hiring manager. HiringReach builds tools for that last channel from the job seeker's side.
For Job Seekers: Are You in SeekOut, and Can You Get Removed?
HiringReach's short answer: if you have a public professional profile, a recruiter using SeekOut may be able to find you, since SeekOut says it searches 1B+ profiles. SeekOut's help center says that when a candidate asks to be removed through its website, SeekOut "promptly" honors it, but that this "doesn't remove their info from the original data providers." SeekOut's privacy policy, read October 5, 2026, lists rights to delete and to opt out of sale or sharing, requested through its Privacy Choices Portal or by email to [email protected].
Being findable in SeekOut is passive. You wait for a recruiter to search for someone like you. HiringReach works in the other direction: it helps you find the hiring manager who likely owns a role, reveal a triple-verified work email, and send one personal note from your own inbox. HiringReach's guide to finding the hiring manager behind a job posting shows the manual method, and its answer on whether it is OK to contact a hiring manager directly covers when to do it. HiringReach Starter is $49 a month after a 7-day trial that needs a card, and revealing your first work email ends the trial and starts billing.
HiringReach's Verdict on SeekOut
SeekOut does what its pitch says: it helps a recruiter discover candidates across outside profiles and the ATS at once, and reach them by email with credits and AI-drafted campaigns. At $149 a month paid annually, SeekOut Sourcing Core is the cheapest published price among the outbound tools HiringReach compared, and the 14-day trial needs no card. The things to check are the annual upfront payment, which features sit only in the quoted team plans, and the company's 2024 cost cuts when you sign a multi-year deal. HiringReach keeps its other reviews, including tools for employers, in the HiringReach reviews index.
